These days, you can easily find many study cafés in every neighborhood.
Some open-style study cafés provide large tables without dividers, almost like regular cafés, where you can sit and study. On the other hand, reading room-style study cafés have partitions for each seat. Between the two, I prefer studying in an open-style seat.

Typically, study cafés charge around 2,000 won per hour. This can be a bit of a burden for students. Most of these cafés offer light snacks along with coffee and tea.

In the past, l used to go to study cafés to hit the books with my son.
However, many study cafés these days restrict entry for students below middle school age. I'm a bit bitter about it, as it feels like I've lost an opportunity to create fond memories with my son.

요즘은 동네마다 많은 스터디 카페를 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있습니다. 오픈형 스터디 카페는 마치 일 반 카페처럼 칸막이가 없는 큰 탁자가 있어서 거기에 앉아 공부를 할 수 있습니다. 반면, 독서실 형 스터디 카페는 각 자리마다 칸막이가 있습니다. 저는 둘 중에서 오픈형 자리에서 공부하는 것을 선호합니다.

보통 스터디 카페는 한 시간에 2,000원 정도의 요금을 부과하는데, 이는 학생들에게는 조금 부 담스러울 수도 있습니다. 이러한 스터디 카페에는 대부분 커피, 차와 함께 소소한 먹을거리도 준비되어 있습니다.

전에는 아들과 함께 스터디 카페에 가서 공부를 하곤 했습니다. 그런데, 요즘은 많은 스터디 카 페에서 중학생 이하의 학생들은 출입을 금지하고 있습니다. 아들과의 즐거운 추억을 만들 수 있 는 기회가 하나 사라진 것 같아서 그 점은 좀 씁쓸합니다.
