I am currently working as a professional counselor at a high school.
I don't teach any classes. Instead, I focus solely on counseling.
Professional counselors were appointed to their posts for the first time in
2007. That's when I was appointed, so one could say that l've been part of the history of professional counseling.

The professional counseling system started off as a solution for serious adolescent issues like school violence. There was a lot of conflict and confusion at first, because schools didn't fully understand the role of counselors, and there were no clear guidelines. Thankfully, things have settled down by now.

From students who come for a quick break, to those who come seeking help for deep concerns, I am establishing myself as a resting place for students' emotional well-being.

저는 현재 고등학교에서 전문 상담 교사로 근무하고 있습니다. 수업은 하지 않고, 대신 상담만 전담합니다. 전문 상담 교사는 2007년에 처음으로 임용되기 시작했습니다. 저는 그때 임용이 되었으니, 전문 상담 교사의 역사와 함께해 온 셈입니다.

전문 상담 교사 제도는 학교 폭력과 같은 심각한 청소년 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 시작되 었습니다. 처음에는 학교 내에서 상담 교사의 역할에 대한 이해도 부족하고, 지침도 분명치 않 아 여러 갈등과 혼란이 있었습니다. 다행히도 이제는 자리를 많이 잡았습니다.

가볍게 쉬러 오는 학생들부터 깊은 고민을 안고 도움을 청하는 학생들에 이르기까지, 저는 학생 들의 마음 건강을 위한 쉼터로 자리매김해 가고 있습니다.
