영어 일기

At a get-together with college classmates recently, we talked about studying English. A friend suggested keeping an English diary, even if the diary entries are short. I had doubts about keeping an English diary because I'm not very good at English.

My friend said to just write whatever | can and ask an Al chatbot to correct my sentences. I gave it a try when I got home, and it made my sentences sound much more natural.

Nowadays, I write in my diary in Korean every day, and aim for at least one English entry each week. Although they are still short entries, with just a few lines apiece, I plan to expand them as I get used to it more. I usually only write about bickering with my adolescent daughter, but I hope to write about more diverse subjects eventually.

최근에 대학 동기 모임에서 영어 공부 관련 이야기를 나누었습니다. 한 친구가 짧아도 좋으니 영어 일 기를 써 보라고 했어요. 저는 영어를 잘 못하기 때문에 영어 일기를 어떻게 쓸지 의문이 들었어요.

그런데 친구가 그냥 무작정 쓰고, AI 챗봇에게 내가 쓴 문장을 고쳐 달라고 하면 된다고 했어요. 집에 돌아와서 그렇게 해 보았더니, 훨씬 자연스러운 문장으로 고쳐 주는 게 아니겠어요?

지금은 우리말 일기는 매일 쓰고, 영어 일기는 일주일에 적어도 한 편 쓰는 것이 목표입니다. 아직은 몇 줄밖에 안 되는 짧은 일기이지만 조금 더 익숙해지면 더 늘릴 예정입니다. 주제도 사춘기 딸과 투닥 거리는 일상이 대부분이지만, 점차 더 다양한 주제로 써 보고 싶습니다.
