아이의 한자 사랑

Our eldest child is 7 years old. One day, after watching an animated film about magic and Chinese characters, he became deeply fascinated with Chinese characters. Whether on the move in the car, during a shower, or while eating, he constantly recites Chinese characters and recites them from memory. He never takes a break.

He also frequently asks whether words we use in the day-to-day are based on Chinese characters. He also wants to know about the meanings of these words.

Because of our child, I installed a Chinese character dictionary app. Whenever something piques his curiosity, we look it up to find the answers. It's fascinating to discover the meanings of words I used casually without giving them much thought.

Our child takes great pride in knowing a lot of Chinese characters. So, he has decided to have a go at a Chinese character proficiency test in June of this year.

우리 집 첫째 아이는 7살입니다. 어느 날, 만화 영화 '마법천자문'을 본 이후로 한자에 푹 빠졌습니다.
차로 이동할 때, 샤워를 할 때, 밥을 먹을 때도 쉴 새 없이 한자를 계속 읊어 가며 암송합니다.

그리고 아이는 일상생활에서 쓰는 단어가 한자어인지 아닌지 자주 물어봅니다. 또한 이 단어들이 무슨 뜻을 가지고 있는지도 알고 싶어 합니다.

아이 때문에 저는 한자사전 앱을 설치했습니다. 궁금한 것이 생기면 앱을 이용해 답을 찾아봅니다. 평 소에 별 생각 없이 쓰던 단어도 그 뜻을 알게 되니 재미있습니다.

아이는 자신이 많은 한자를 알고 있다는 것을 매우 뿌듯하게 여깁니다. 그래서 올해 6월에는 한자 자 격 시험에도 도전해 보기로 했습니다.
