Translation and Interpretation Grad School

Around 15 years ago, while working at my job, I was doing test prep to get into a graduate school of translation and interpretation. It was quite a challenge to attend interpretation classes and study for 2 to 3 hours every evening after work.

After about a year of preparing for the entrance exam, I got accepted into the graduate school. I thought that entering school marked the end of my hardships and the beginning of happiness. However, I was sorely mistaken. Attending school was tough. In each class, we had to receive critiques from our classmates and professors about every presentation.

It has now been over 10 years since I officially became an interpreter.

There are occasional difficulties and fatigue that come with this profession, since constantly have tolearn about new fields. But I am at my best when I am interpreting, and I think it is my calling.

Even now, sometimes recall those days when I attended lectures taught by Hyunseok. I listen to"입트영" on my way to work, and think about how I can apply the great expressions I hear on the show to my work as an interpreter.
